Description

... to be able to discover services automatically. On Mac, apparently the libraries and headers are there already, on Windows they need to be installed, so maybe a configure switch is needed. On Linux, maybe the Avahi library can be used.
On BlackBerry10, this needs to be investigated.

All of this needs more investigation.
