      Description

Hi. I'm using qtcreator/qmlscene under Ubuntu 13.04 inside VirtualBox 4.2.14. I am unable to run my simple qml application because qmlscene fails with "Unrecognized OpenGL version". I have the VirtualBox extensions installed so can use my 3D accelerated desktop (Unity 3D), but qmlscene just gives me a black box. Others have reported this elsewhere (http://askubuntu.com/questions/257704/problem-with-ubuntu-phone-sdk-demo-app) (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1129061) and it was thought that VirtualBox didn't support OpenGL ES. However I am led to believe they do, and perhaps the problem is the OpenGL version detection code located somewhere about http://qt.gitorious.org/qt/qtbase/blobs/stable/src/gui/kernel/qplatformopenglcontext.cpp

Inside VirtualBox 4.2.14 (latest) glxinfo returns:-
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Chromium 1.9

The host (which can run qmlscene fine) returns:-
OpenGL version string: 4.2.0 NVIDIA 304.88

      Thanks!
