Widgets in Mac native toolbar (unified)

The last time I checked, there was no support for adding QWidget objects to the native toolbar (unified) on a Mac via QtMacExtras, only QAction objects. I hope there is planned support for widgets? Adding for example a text field to the unified toolbar is a rather obvious example in a browser application (which is exactly my own use case).
