I have tested with edit field on the transmission-qt main window.
0) make sure both orca and transmission-qt are running.
1) tab until you hear text to know the edit field has gained the focus.
2) type in some text.
3) use left and right arrow keys to navigate over the text you have just entered. As the cursor moves orca should announce the letter where the cursor is pointing to.
