Running qmake for maskedmousearea example fails

    Description

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Install 5.15.0-alpha snapshot from staging
      2. open Qt Creator and open 'maskedmousearea' example
      3. run 'qmake'

      Expected result:

      qmake succeeds without errors.

      Actual result:

      qmake fails with: Project ERROR: Project has no top-level .qmake.conf file

      If running the .qmlproject with qmlscene, you get: "['file:///C:/Users/qt/RTA/qt5/Examples/Qt-5.15.0/quick/customitems/maskedmousearea/maskedmousearea.qml:52 module "Example" is not installed\r', '\r', '']"
