Launching player example in QtCreator results in : 

Exception at 0x7ffa76229159, code: 0xe06d7363: C++ exception, flags=0x1 (execution cannot be continued) (first chance) in EVR!MFCreateVideoSampleAllocator

Probably related ...

for (QAudio::Role role : m_player->supportedAudioRoles()) qInfo() << " " << role;

... doesn't show anything. 

tested on Windows (in a virtual machine, running on kvm, but with sound).
