Unable to force preprocessor macro defines in attach process mode

In debugging an external program (attach process mode), since no project file is given, there is no enforcement of any preprocessor defines, causing the editor to dim the wrong part of the code.   If we can provide a mechanism to enforce defines, the editor can correctly select parts to dim.  That should improve the debugging experience.
