single character error prevents qml editor from opening qml document

I would say it is the QML editor but that is not a option.

I made (by accident a one character change that make the an image resource
file invalid. Because of that the forms editor could not open and display
the form. (see attached).

Thinking of the way that a browser handles this condition, seems to be a
better solution. It could be that the forms editor assumes a go or a nogo
rule. I hope you can do better.
