Description
There is currently no satisfactory way to perform a silent installation. I think that the IFW should provide such an option in order to allow simple installation from app stores such as the Microsoft store. I was considering deploying my app to the Microsoft store, but given the fact that silent installation is tricky and silent in-place upgrades would be even harder, I don't think it will be practically feasible.
A simple installer.exe --silent option would do the trick nicely. If coupled with in-place offline upgrades (see https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTIFW-1542), it would make deploying to the Microsoft store a snap. Since UWP support was removed for Qt 6, I think that in the spirit of this comment, it makes sense for Qt to add support to the IFW for silent, in-place upgrades in order to support the Microsoft store.
