      The old forum let users embed externally-hosted images. This feature is currently missing.

      There's a NodeBB plugin for that: https://community.nodebb.org/topic/475/-nodebb-plugin-imgbed-image-embedding-with-only-a-url/

      The ability to upload images to the forum.qt.io server would be a nice bonus.
