linkduplicator service does not work

We have the service to both publish integrations for the release tool and to submit data to influxdb.
The service does not work, it does not react to newly created symlinks in the done-integrations directory in storage. I suspect (without any confirmation) that https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/186384/ might have caused this.
The interesting bit there is that we now only listen to part of the file close events and as far as I can tell, I can create symlinks in the directory without being notified (again, not 100% sure).
In any case, my understanding is also that the automatical release export is broken, is this the same issue?
This makes the influxdb integration useless since no data is being submitted.
