At the moment, there is no way to select which multimedia backend to use. If several are present in the 'mediaservice' plugin directory, the first one is always used. There should be an API to list the available backends and select which one to use. We could also add an environment variable and a command-line argument.

Some ranking information should be added to the plugins metadata to indicate which one should be used by default.
