Steps to reproduce:

1. Create rectangle with starting gradient different than ffffff
2. Select some other item on design plane (not rectangle)
3. In navigation window select item, starting gradient color-box value is ffffff
or
1. Create rectangle with starting gradient different than ffffff
2. Go to edit mode
3. Go back to design mode -> starting gradient color-box value is ffffff
