Disable and enable environment variables

Changing your build or run environment temporary is a very common task if you work in a more complex environment. For example disabling a feature etc. to improve building time or start the program in a different state.

For that it would be really nice that you not only set and unset variables in the environment but disable and enable them again. Not only for you own but from the system as well.
