There are some concerns regarding exposing automatically the QApplication singleton when using Qt/C++ applications extended by Python, like scriptableapplication.

Maybe a mechanism to make this explicit, or maybe expose only a couple of widgets is a better approach, since at the moment it is a bit dangerous.
