changing the id throws an exception

    Description

      on sentry, we found that crash from an exception: https://the-qt-company-00.sentry.io/issues/4740463964/

      it looks very similar to https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QDS-500

      with https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt-creator/qt-creator/+/526858 we are catching the exception but maybe that is wrong.
