changing view via the axis helper changes zoom

    Description

      Clicking the axis helper to change the view, causes a specific zoom. This can be very noticeable and annoying if view is zoomed out far, then after clicking the axis helper, the view is suddenly zoomed in.

      Expectation: changing view should maintain the current zoom level.
