Check for updates

What is the benefit? Why is this valuable?

Curently maintenance tool does not check of MAJOR.MINOR updates, only the patch versions. User of the DS does not get information of updated versions.

What are common use cases?

Any existing Qt DS user that is connected to internet

Technical information

Call home feature would "call home"

• on startup
• every 24hrs

This would send a 'ping' with Qt account information over https and on return, it would reply the information regarding new version(s) being available or not.

If there are no updates OR reply, DS would indicate to user that they have the latest version.

If there IS update, DS would show dialog to user about update.

Additionally, the update server (infra side) would store the information of the Qt account with usage information + date and time stamp.
