Description
I'm coming from using Qt Widgets -> .QML. I was offput initially by Qt Design Studio and now I'm finally diving in about a year later. Below are my issues that are still prevalent:
- Can't drag and drop files within the File System on the left.
- Right clicking and "Add New" is not intuitive with adding a directory, these are separate. It would be much easier if I could do right click > add new > .ui/directory. It would also declutter the right click menu and remove the process of needing a wizard for the .ui file.
- Error messages require you to use the right click -> copy instead of letting the text be highlightable.
- You can't copy and paste the output, it's hidden behind an image or something.
- Restructuring a folder is a headache. I cant just move files in file explorer and have it recognize the changes in DS. I need to manually go through a wizard each time to create a new .ui file in the location and then copy and paste the code. Then delete the old files.
- The Figma-> DS could be better. Maybe a wizard that will let me finetune state naming conventions. I have less imput here.
- General instability.
Most of this is just basic usage. I'm not sure how new this tool is but I can't imagine I'm the first person to vent these frustrations. Sometimes it feels like more work than it's worth. Coming back a year later, these issues are still prevalent. I want to like this, it's just hard with the setbacks.
