3D Item doesn't get selected when dragged and dropped to the 3D Edit View or the navigator

Item should get selected (show selection in the navigator, show selection box and gizmos around the item in the 3D Edit View and show properties for the item in the property pane) when it is added to a scene by dragging and dropping it either to the navigator or to the 3D Edit View. At current state selection is not working correctly.

Test steps:

Open the attached project

Add the imported component "Box" by dragging and dropping it to the navigator (3D Edit view closed)

-> Navigator is showing as if the Rectangle is selected, property pane shows type "multiselection"

Open the 3D Edit View

-> selection box and gizmo are visible around the box, although navigator shows no selection for the box and properties pane shows no properties for it

Add a Cone to scene by dragging and dropping it to the navigator -> navigator shows now selection for the Rectangle and the Box

Delete the box and cone by clicking them in the 3D Edit View and pressing Delete key

Leave the 3D Edit View open

Drag and drop the box again in the navigator

-> navigator still shows no selection for box, but properties pane show properties for it. Gizmo is shown for the box, but not the selection box

Delete the box by selecting and pressing Delete key

Add the box again by dragging and dropping to the 3D Edit View -> navigator shows no selection for the box and neither gizmo nor selection box is visible around the box in the 3D Edit View.
