Description
Below are some items I have in mind to improve the look of the light icons and gizmos. Please check them and validate, improve or reject them.
- Directional light geometry should have fixed size irrespective of the camera zoom as it doesn't really have a size.
- Directional light direction lines length match the light intensity?
- Selected light's gizmo should be yellow.
- Light gizmo should appear only when the light is selected, otherwise only the icon appears.
- If the point above is rejected, at least the disabled gizmo color be black or very dark gray (currently it is barely distinguishable from the background).
- Area light gizmo lines should be semi-randomly distributed over the light area or at least add a fifth line at the center.
- Area light size should not be fixed. Should match light width and height.
- Area light direction lines length match the light intensity?
- point light gizmo should be a sphere matching the effective volume of the light.
- Spot light gizmo diameter and height should match the light properties.
- "Scale" property should be disabled for lights? I cannot see the meaning of scaling a light.
- IMO Light icons should be improved (check attached unity light icons as an example). Of course we also need to fix the issue that causes icons to have the weird gradient they have currently.
