qt quick stack app - go from main.cpp to designer on first open - in essential mode

Created new project: qt quick; stack.
after finish the main.qml document displayed in editor.
press the "designer" icon; received a prompt of which
document to display in the designer.
I choose page 1.
When the designer opened that page, it was in
"essential" mode.
If I had not played around with this I would not have
known to switch to 3D preset.

I did expect it to be in 3D preset even on the first time.
