Timeline animation unzoomed to 1000 frames instead of 10

It happened once or two times during the workshop with a client:
1) there was a timeline of the length of 10 frames

2) the timeline showed the animation unzoomed so that there were 1000 frames visible and the start and end frames were on the left side (frame 0 and frame 10)

3) zoom doesn't work

4) switching to states tab and back to animation tab doesn't refresh the view

5) switching to edit mode and back to design mode doesn't refresh the timeline

6) working solution - switch to states tab, switch to edit mode, switch back to design mode, switch back to animation tab -> timeline shows 10 frames, zoom works.
