When trying to add e.g a .png that already exists in project, a dialog opens saying "Could not add path.to.asset.png to project"(see picture attachment). It could be more informative about the reason, in this case the asset already exists.

Importer for 3D assets has that functionality and also an option to overwrite the existing asset (picture as attachment). Maybe could be considered to use here also?
