Dragging an imported 3D component that has Model as root item instead of Node into the scene behaves weirdly

Sometimes imported components result in a component that has Model as the root item instead of Node. Dragging these into the scene behaves weirdly. E.g. each time the drag enters form editor, a copy of the dragged component is created the model under scene root. The component also can't be dropped into 3D edit view as it should.
