Description
When starting from the scratch and creating a new project by using a template 'Qt Quick Application - Stack' there seems to be an undocumented feature when using Text UI element from the Qt Quick Basic.
There is another bug report telling that default font for the text element depends on the operating system (Default for Windows is 'MS Shell Dlg 2' and default for Ubuntu is 'Ubuntu'). Therefore the user must explicitly define the font for the text UI element.
When the user has dragged and dropped the text element and tries to change the properties from the menu, there is an obvious bug.
When no font is set, the user is not able to successfully set the font to first one in the list that is Arial font. The Text Editor view shows no code changes in the QML file if Arial font is selected. When some other font is selected, the code is changed accordingly. After setting some other font than Arial, it is possible to set the font to Arial and code is changed correctly. If the user removes the font definition from the code, the issue can be repeated.
This issue has been confirmed to exist on both Windows and Ubuntu systems, and it is not user specific. Another user has reproduced this issue on Linux.
May I suggest that when fixing this issue, the root cause is clarified by using 5*Whys method since there might be similar escaped defects in other properties in other QML types as well. Testing those requires systematic approach and end users should not be used for testing basic functionalities.
