Cannot move on from splash screen in two monitor setup

Installed 3.6 and started it. Apparently I had previously closed it on my second monitor, so it now opened on that monitor. My main monitor is 4k with 2x pixel ratio and the secondary monitor has 1x pixel ratio. The splash screen shows only the upper left corner, so no buttons are visible and thereforre I can't close it. Since it's modal, I can't access the main window either to move it and ESC or enter or any other button does nothing either. So I'm stuck.
