Material names are aligned to the right in the material browser. If the material name is longer than approx. 16 characters (depending on character width) the start of the material name is cut off. 

This makes it hard to find a material you're looking for by just scrolling the list of materials.

Also material name editing should end by clicking anywhere outside the text field.

Another improvement would be if you could zoom in/out on the materials, ending up with only a list with the full names, without the preview image.
