Design Studio has a hard dependency on git

Having a hard dependency to git can be complicated from the developers point of view. At least it should be documented. Ideally the studio components should be in the maintenance tool as an independently updatable pre-built binary component.

Then you could simply import DS Components to your project without the use of git. Updating the components in maintenance tool would be convenient as well.
