Description
There are a few Squish Installer uses cases that might be good to document.
Regular Installation
- no previous Squish, or Qt installation
- Squish Installer is started
- it fetches a license key
- displays Installer pages based on a license key
- starts the installation
- finishes the installation after some time
Canceled Installation, at the beginning
- no previous Squish, or Qt installation
- Squish Installer is started
- it fetches a license key
- displays Installer pages based on license key
- user cancels the installation at one of the pages, before starting the installation
Canceled Installation, at the middle
- no previous Squish, or Qt installation
- Squish Installer is started
- it fetches a license key
- displays Installer pages based on license key
- starts the installation
- user cancels the installation somewhere in the middle, around 50%
Multiple Installations
- there are multiple Squish, or Qt installation on the target machine
- Squish Installer is started
- it fetches a license key
- displays Installer pages based on license key
- starts the installation
- finishes the installation after some time
Copied Installation
- there are multiple Squish, or Qt installation on the target machine
- user copies an existing installation and pastes it into another folder
- run the command line tool called squishconfig for configuring such installation
Canceled Unattended Installation
- no previous Squish, or Qt installation
- Squish Installer is started from command line in unattended mode (no GUI)
- installations starts
- users stops the installation somewhere in the middle (by force, kill or so)
Uninstallation of a single installation
- there's only one Squish installation on the target computer
- user starts Uninstaller
- and uninstalls Squish
Uninstallation when there are multiple installations
- there are multiple Squish, or Qt installation on the target machine
- user starts Uninstaller
- and uninstalls Squish
