"Error! Cannot acquire license to use qtframework" when installed as root

On an AlmaLinux 8.10 (RHEL 8 derivative) server we are getting licensing errors as follows:

AutoMoc: Error while initializing license client: Could not acquire lock file for client. Some other process might be using it.
Error! Cannot acquire license to use qtframework.

Attach the above error details to the bug report.

Additionally, attach the qtlicd_log.txt file of the Qt License Service that can be found from the directory of this Qt installation.

To bypass the license check entirely, set the environment variable QTFRAMEWORK_BYPASS_LICENSE_CHECK with value 1.

This error is repeated many times throughout the build output.

Qt 6.8.1 was installed as root since this build server is used by multiple users. It was installed once using "su -c" and once directly as root after switching user. Same problem in both cases.

We do not see this error when building with Qt 6.7.2 on the same server and we do not see it with Qt 6.8.1 on most of our other target platforms (Ubuntu 20.04, Windows, iOS).

When installed as a local user (i.e. non-root), we do not see the error, all works fine.

I've attached my qtlicd.ini, installations.ini, and qtlicd_log.txt.
