We could utilize some Jira dashboards with different kind of filters and gadgets to provide the real-time insights to the project status. 

This would enhance the transparency further, eliminate the need for the manual reporting (asking, delivering and explaining), and help to deal with the most acute topics at any given time. And also provide a systematic checklists that shows the status automatically.
