Functional: not able to import 3D models in Project Palette

trying to add customized model to the scene but doesn't appear Project Palette
methods have been used for adding model :
1-drag and drop --> doesn't work
2-copying model in the project directory --> didn't appear in the project pallet although images for examples appears
extensions of models :
.dae
.obj
