Occationally cannot rotate object

When you grab and drag the rotation manipulator to rotate along a specific axis (red, green or blue handle) nothing happens. You have to release it, grab it again and drag. Then it will work.

I have not found a sure way to reproduce this but it happens every now and then when working in Studio. Best bet to reproduce it seems to be switching between objects, switching between rotate/scale/move and also switching between local/global axis for the manipulators.
