Welcome screen is too big

There is no reason for the welcome screen to be 1440x900 with its current contents. It leaves a lot of empty space especially at the bottom of the window. Something like 1200x700 or even less could work as well. This would also help with issues where the welcome screen doesn't properly fit the screen if the resolution is low.
