It is possible to lose .uia content if there is an error somewhere when updating it

We should always preserve the original .uia file until we are sure the new content was successfully written. Use QSaveFile to open .uia files for update. 

Updating .uip files should also use QSaveFile unless there is already some custom implementation to ensure .uip files are not lost on error during writing. Needs to be checked.
