Dynamic layer cropping

We have a layer with a car that has the best antialiasing option enabled. The car is displayed in several fixed positions on screen in different pages and interpolated between them when changing pages. Most of the time the car is not taking up more than 20% of the screen yet the whole empty area around it eats up performance and memory.

A suggestion would be to calculate bounds of the content inside the layer and crop it automatically (probably having set maximum size before) similar to what the user would do using "Size" settings in Qt 3D Studio.
