System rotation of full screen QML apps causes visual glitches on Symbian ^3

On an N8 when you rotate the screen from portrait to landscape there are two big visual glitches.
1. You see the softkeys 'options' for a fraction of a second.
2. Somekind of strange chunk of screen is half drawn.

They correct themselves quickly but it makes the experience of rotating the screen sucky.
