Keyboard doesnt open when tapping on the email input type

I have two input types in a HTML document:

<input type="email" name="email" value="" id="email" class="inputtext">
<input type="password" name="pass" id="pass" class="inputtext">

tapping on the password input feild opens the keyboard, while tapping on the email types input doesn't.
