    Description

The Unicode Consortium is working towards a JSON form of the CLDR data; an alpha release of v42 is available (not yet production-ready) and we could give feedback on their Jira.
I haven't yet looked at what's there, much less how it's organised, but it may be easier to extract the data we want from a JSON form of the data than the present XML form; it might even (albeit this may come with run-time costs we might opt to avoid) be possible to use the JSON form at run-time, replacing qlocale_data_p.h with it and potentially even updating at run-time when the Qt application has networking available.

We should take some time to study the current state of the proposal and suggest to the folks developing the format any changes that would make it more useful to Qt.
