QDoc ignores multiple \brief commands without warning or output from any but the first one

When I generate the docs for something like the following example, the second \brief command is ignored by QDoc without warning:

\example hello_world
\title Hello World Example
\ingroup examples-world
\brief The Hello World example says hello.
//! This line is intentionally left blank and only here because Jira's formatting is not lit.
\brief This Hello World example is lit.
