Description
It looks like https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtdeclarative/+/340224 which was the fix for QTBUG-92064 re-broke QTBUG-68941 when the target is null. It had insufficient test coverage, too.
Fortunately that fix didn't get integrated into 5.15. So this is a regression relative to 5.15.
