The native file dialog on Windows (as opened through the static functions) provides a combobox in the file name edit with the potential of displaying recently opened files. It doesn't do so by default (the application has to store and restore this). It would be great if the Qt file dialog (as opened through instantiation) would have the capability to set the history.
