    • Yocto: meta-qt6 layer
    • None

Like the open source contributors did with meta-qt5, please register the new meta-qt6 Yocto layer also on layers.openembedded.org. The main reason is that missing the meta-qt6 layer breaks all Qt based recipes that are provided in the Yocto ecosystem and makes discovery very hard. My personal problem/the problem of the KDE community is that the meta-kf6 (KDE Frameworks) and Qt6 branch of the meta-kde (KDE Plasma and applications) parsing is fully broken because the meta-qt6 layer is not known to the layer index.

Together with adding the Qt layer to the layer index comes the requirement of having at least a branch called "master" that tracks main development (even if it "just" tracks releases) because it is an unfortunate constraint of layer.oe.org and as I was told by Poky upstream, this will not change in the soon future.

sapiippo I was told that you are the person talking to about this.
