If you click just below a toolbar button in the view background area (between the toolbar and the view), the status tip for that button appears in the status bar.
This seems to happen because the icon size has been changed to 16x16; i.e. it thinks the icon is still the default size (32x32), so clicking in the 16 pixels below the toolbar button image causes it to show the status tip.
