Black area displayed when running widget application on Android emulator

When running a widget application on the Android emulator, a black area is displayed instead of the expected widgets (see the pictures).

Run the widget gallery example (located in qtbase/examples/widgets/gallery) on the Android emulator.

Expected:
The example should be fully visible and functional on the Android emulator.

Actual:
A black area is displayed instead of the widgets.
