Reproducible with test_barstest manual test. Steps to reproduce:
- click on a bar
- click Toggle rotation
- nothing happens - the selected bar should start rotating
- click on another bar
- observe the previous bar's rotation change
It appears that the rotation is updated, but it does not trigger redraw.
