I have created an Android app with Qt/QML that is available in Google Play. Recently I upgraded from Qt6.8.2 to Qt6.8.3. Since then I get a lot of complaints from users that the app freezes with a black screen (white or black, depending on the theme) when they pull it from the background. They have to kill the app and restart. With Qt6.8.2 and older versions that never happened.

I had a few users try a version with Qt6.9.0 And the same issue occurred. For now I have rolled back to Qt6.8.2 and it all works fine again. So I believe the cause for this issue is in Qt6.8.3 (and 6.9.0)

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this myself, so I have no example piece of code (other than my whole app) to show the problem. Most of the complaints I got are from users with Google Pixel phones running Android 15. One user has the problem on a Samsung S21 running Android 14.

I have a Samsung S22 with Android 14 where everything works fine.

The problem does not occur 100% of the time for users that have this problem. Sometimes the app wakes up fine, but often it does not.
