    Description

There is a usability issue in the Qt file dialogs that is evident in all KDE applications.

When you need to select a file (for opening/saving), you get a dialog where the directory structure is exposed. Even if you ask to have the "Names" sorted, in the ascending or descending order, for the directories this is often ignored. I think it happens when you have directory names that include numbers or start with numbers. In this case you can get things like:

      • > 2203xx-dir1
      • -  2504xx-test
      • > 200820-foo

Particularly when you use iso dates as parts of your naming structure, and you have large directory structures, this makes finding things a pain.
