The Qt Online Installer used to provide libgstreamermediaplugin.so for Linux installations, but it no longer does that. In contrast, our pre-built Boot to Qt images still contain this plugin.

While FFmpeg is now the recommended backend for desktop Linux, it is my understanding that the GStreamer is still officially supported.

This also affects PySide users, who are not easily able to build the plugin themselves from source.
